This photograph was made in Kampala in late 2025, during my fourth visit to the city. Shot from a moving boda boda, it captures a busier, tighter Kampala than I remembered from my last visit in 2017. The crowd felt denser. The energy stronger. Movement pressed closer together as the city carried on with urgency and intent.

The image holds particular significance for me. Kampala was where my relationship with photography took a decisive turn. In 2015, I attended my first event photography workshop here, covering a music and arts festival. That experience — the training, the pressure of live moments, the act of working through crowds and stages — reshaped how I saw photography. When I returned to Lagos, I carried those lessons with me, turning my attention fully to the street and to everyday life as it unfolded.

Ten years later, I found myself back in Kampala, still moving through the city with a camera, still learning. This frame feels like a quiet full circle — a reminder that paths do not always close, but widen. What began on festival stages continues on city streets, in traffic, in motion, and in passing moments that reveal themselves only when you stay alert.

Printed as part of On the Road, Still Learning, this photograph reflects a decade-long commitment to observation, movement, and trust in the everyday.
